Norman Lemke

Norman Lemke is CEO of Munich Private Equity AG and one of the founding shareholders of the group. He is also a board member of Munich Private Equity Funds AG as well as managing director of Munich Private Equity Consulting GmbH, Walnut GmbH & Co. KG and Munich Private Equity Partners GmbH.

Norman Lemke holds a degree in business administration with a focus on commercial law, banking and stock exchange, and completed tax consultant exams. As a result of more than 25 years of management experience across all development phases of the corporate group, he has mature, cross-divisional expertise in the design, administration, management and sales of investment products in the private equity asset class. Norman Lemke is co-author of the book “Private Equity für Privatanleger” (Private Equity for Private Investors), published by Finanzbuch Verlag in 2011.

Nico Auel

Nico Auel is board member of Munich Private Equity AG and responsible for the retail investors business within the Group. In addition, he is Managing Director of Munich Private Equity Consulting GmbH, a subsidiary of Munich Private Equity AG, and also responsible for strategic corporate communications, marketing and human resources for the group of companies.

Since 2009, Nico Auel has held various positions within the group of companies. Among other positions, he worked several years for Munich Private Equity Partners as an investment manager with focus on the North American private equity market. Before joining MPE, Auel worked for Deloitte and TRW Automotive in the U.S.

Nico Auel holds a degree in business administration and studied economics at ISM Dortmund, the University of Melbourne and the Universidad Europea de Valencia.

His thesis “Financial Investors in the Shadow of the Financial Crisis” was published by Igel Verlag in 2014.

Christopher Bär

Christopher Bär is a founding member and Managing Director of Munich Private Equity Partners (MPEP) as well as board member of Munich Private Equity AG. He works since 2008 for the group of companies and today is responsible for the business with institutional clients. In his most recent prior role, he was serving on MPEP’s investment committee as well as responsible for portfolio management and served on several advisory boards of private equity funds.

Christopher holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (“Diplom-Kaufmann”) and participated in the largest European academic research project regarding value creation in private equity buyouts. He has earned the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) professional designation and worked for more than 14 years in the private equity business.

Armin Prokscha

Armin Prokscha joined the group of companies in 2009. He is board member of Munich Private Equity AG, leads the Legal & Compliance department and is also board member at Munich Private Equity Funds AG. He was also Managing Director of our Austrian entity from 2010 to 2016 and Compliance Officer of Munich Private Equity Funds AG from 2016 to 2019. As of January 1, 2021, Armin Prokscha was appointed as a member of the Executive Board of Munich Private Equity Funds AG. In this role, he is responsible for the areas of risk management, fund accounting, customer administration and customer service.

After studying law in Munich and business administration at FernUniversität Hagen, Armin Prokscha initially worked as a lawyer for the Munich law firm P + P Pöllath + Partner – one of the most renowned German law firms specializing in private equity.

Armin Prokscha is married and has three children.

Sunanda Tajhya

Sunanda Tajhya is a member of the Management Board of Munich Private Equity Funds AG, where she heads the portfolio management.

The financial mathematician has worked for the Group in various functions since 2014. Among other positions, she worked as an analyst for Munich Private Equity Partners and was Head of Risk and Liquidity Management at MPE from 2019 on. Since 2021, she has been responsible for the portfolio management of MPE funds of funds for retail investors.

Sunanda Tajhya holds a Master’s degree in Quantitative Finance from the Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel.

Liliane Armel

Liliane Armel is a Managing Director at the AIF manager of Munich Private Equity Partners in Luxembourg and has been working in the Luxembourg office since its inception in 2014. Prior to her current position, she was active in various management positions in banks and fund management companies in Belgium and Luxembourg.

She holds a Bachelor in Finance from Solvay Business School (ULB) and acquired the CFA Charter in 2004. Within MPEP, she is responsible for areas such as risk and liquidity management, daily operations, valuation and accounting.

David Schäfer

David Schäfer is a founding member and Managing Director of Munich Private Equity Partners (MPEP). He is primarily responsible for portfolio management, serving on MPEP`s investment committee and holds a board position in the AIFM. David worked within several affiliates of Munich Private Equity since 2008. He is a banker and started his career in 2000 within the regional state bank Helaba. Prior to joining the group of companies, David worked in the private equity department of a German insurance company.

He studied financial management and international business and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (“Diplom-Kaufmann”) as well as a Private Equity Advisor certificate from the European Business School. David worked for more than 14 years in the private equity business and holds several advisory board positions on private equity funds around the globe.

Hans-Christian Moritz

Christian Moritz is Managing Director of Munich Private Equity Partners and primarily responsible for portfolio management.

Christian previously worked for Munich Private Equity Partners from 2014 to 2018, leading global private equity fund investments and being part of several advisory boards of private equity funds. Prior to re-joining the company in 2021, he was responsible for buyout fund investments as well as co-investments at a renowned asset manager for alternatives investments as Director for Buyouts. Before starting his career in private equity, Christian spent five years leading infrastructure investments in photovoltaic plants at a renewable energy investment manager.

He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (“Diplom-Kaufmann”) from Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich.

Lars Gentz

Lars Gentz is Managing Director of Walnut GmbH & Co. KG, a subsidiary of Munich Private Equity AG. With his team, he develops sophisticated and modern software solutions for the finance and insurance industry. This includes i.e. the innovative online advisory technology “Walnut Live”, which was designed in close cooperation with financial advisors and has been in use since 2019.

Before joining Walnut, Lars Gentz was the owner of a design and IT service provider and worked in IT project management at various companies.

Birgit Schmolmüller

Birgit Schmolmüller joined Munich Private Equity in 2008. From 2010 to 2016, she was Sales Director Austria. Since 2017, she has been primarily responsible for MPE’s business in the Austrian market.

Before joining MPE, Birgit Schmolmüller held various marketing and sales positions at different companies. She also worked for several years as a freelance translator in English and French, with a focus on economics.

Birgit Schmolmüller studied Translation Studies at the University of Innsbruck.

Andrew Lake is Managing Director of Munich Private Equity Partners. In this role he is overseeing a. o. all accounting and valuation functions of the firm.

Prior to joining MPEP’s Luxembourg office in 2016, he worked for PricewaterHouseCoopers in Luxembourg and the US.

Andrew Lake holds undergraduate degrees in Finance and English Literature from the University of Iowa and a Master’s degree in Accounting from the University of Colorado. In 2012, he received his Certified Public Accountant license.
